Sarara: Drawing in the Samburu, Northern Kenya

In September last year I had the utter privilege of working as Artist in Residence at Sarara, an ecolodge in the heart of Kenya's northern frontier in the Samburu, within the Namunyak Conservancy. 850,000 acres of wilderness, Kenya's second largest elephant population, reticulated giraffe, Grevy's zebra and an ancient landscape and community that stopped me in my tracks. I set up my easel above the watering hole, and got to work.
